This simple chrome pop up basin waste is used for basins which have an overflow*.
Pop-up wastes are more fashionable than the old plug and chain systems used in basins as there is no removable plug that can get lost and no chain that can rust.

* - A bathroom basin overflow is a small hole located beneath the tap at the back or front of the basin close to the rim. When the water gets to the level of the overflow, it will begin to drain the excess water away into the drain to stop it over-spilling onto the bathroom floor.
